Pro-active Council involvement is critical to a vibrant local economy. Labour on South Hams District Council will work to:

  • review local and town plans and identify opportunities to support local businesses
  • encourage the creation of sustainable green jobs
  • reduce business rates for local start-ups
  • support new business models such as community enterprises and co-operatives
  • encourage community initiatives to keep local banks, pubs, shops and post-offices open
  • support local credit unions, and Labour’s national proposals Regional Investment Banks
  • bring contracts for council services back in-house and ensure a living wage for council workers

Vote Labour on May 2nd for a vibrant local economy
