Benefit cuts and the roll-out of Universal Credit are forcing some residents into real poverty and despair. Labour on South Hams District Council will:

• campaign against Universal Credit and associated changes to the Council Tax Reduction scheme
• work with Citizens Advice services and other agencies to reduce the damage done by benefit cuts
• establish Credit Unions and campaign against loan sharks
• set up mobile support services to reach the outlying villages
